The dismantling of the Volta Nord parking garage represents a partial process for the reuse of concrete components. The reuse of reinforced concrete elements thus completes the circular economy process.
The deconstruction project includes the dismantling of the Volta Nord parking garage, a construction built in the 1970s. The columns, beams and ceiling elements form the load-bearing structure of the building. They will be made available for the construction of a new building. Accordingly, a non-destructive and function-preserving removal will be carried out. First, the road surface must be removed without damaging the precast concrete elements. At the same time, the contaminated areas are separated from the precast elements and disposed of properly. After dismantling, the logistics of the precast concrete parts and the supports, some of which are 20 meters long, present a challenge.
In addition to the preservation of the prefabricated concrete parts, the removal elements such as steel stairs, floor coverings and furnishings were removed in advance for further use.
