Building Information Modeling (BIM) is the management of information through the use of digital modeling. It leads through the whole life cycle of a built asset, from conceptual design to the construction, maintenance and finally to the dismantlement or renovation. BIM allows collaboration between engineers, owners, architects and contractors in a virtual construction environment. BIM benefits are the increase of productivity and quality, prevention of errors and information losses, better control of whole-life costs and of project deadlines.
CSD runs various BIM projects, in which CSD, respectively partner companies of CSD, act as specialist planners. Today, BIM is mainly used for large-scale projects. These often have a higher degree of complexity, which is why the greatest added value can be achieved here.
In order to continue to be on the forefront of innovation, CSD is a partner of "Bauen Digital Switzerland", a community of over 180 profit and nonprofit organizations from the construction industry. The aim of "Bauen Digital Switzerland" is to "sustainably support the Swiss construction industry in the transformation towards digital construction and to maintain its competitiveness, also internationally."
