Setting up a district heating or cooling network is a complex task involving numerous stakeholders and many steps from idea to realization. Nowadays, those networks are becoming increasingly significant in using ambient heat and low-temperature waste heat. CSD offers you customized engineering, absolutely neutral and independent since we do not have any commercial relations with manufacturers and installers. We consider every possible renewable heat sources available (waste heat, wood and other biomass, geothermal heat, lakes, rivers, wastewater and solar) in harmony with the needs of the people and the local context.

Our services in detail: From preliminary studies to the construction and the optimization of existing netwoks

  • Preliminary studies and concepts, feasibility studies, detailed design of district heating or cooling (local and district heating at low, medium, high and very high temperature, district heating and cooling networks)
  • Engineering during each project phase, call for bids, execution and commissioning
  • Monitoring and optimization of existing district heating and cooling networks
  • Communication, PR activities, public enquiry, in synergy with our environmental engineering team

We offer a plethory of additional services for district heating projects

  • Comparison of different energy production solutions based on renewable energies, with fossil sources for peak demand and/or back-up
  • Environmental impact assessments
  • Studies on the Major Accidents Ordinance (MAO)
  • Climate protection projects (compensation for CO2 emissions)
  • Energy territorial planning (district, municipalities, urban centres) for heat, electricity and mobility
  • Building engineering (HVAC, plumbing, electricity)
