Sustainable solutions for water projects feature among CSD’s priorities. Our areas of activity cover natural water resources and the whole water cycle with its associated infrastructure. Complex interconnections between nature and populated areas require individual issues in water projects to be looked at in a differentiated manner. Therefore, we offer a complete raft of engineering services based on technical, financial and ecological criteria, which we devise for our customers, working in interdisciplinary project teams.
We are active in the following water-related activities:
ApaSan - Swiss Water and Sanitation Project Moldova
The ApaSan – Swiss Water and Sanitation Project in Moldova aims to improve rural water supply services. This shall be reached by investing in infrastructure development, by supporting the nationwide replication of decentralized rural water supply service delivery and management models and by improving conditions that allow effective replication of decentralized drinking water systems. The ApaSan Project is financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), co-financed by the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC) and implemented by the SKAT Foundation Moldova.
Municipal Environmental Management | Bolivia
In recent decades, the urban and peri-urban population of Bolivia has consistently grown. Today two-thirds of Bolivians live in urban areas. Cities, especially of medium and small size, have great difficulty in meeting the challenges related to their growth and in ensuring efficient and sustainable basic services. With 90% of final disposal sites for solid waste that are open dumpsites and less than 30% of treated wastewater, sanitation presents many challenges, exacerbated by the country's economic growth.
The municipal environmental management project executed by CSD Engineers Ltd, HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation and the Bolivian foundation AGUATUYA, has been designed in partnership with municipal and national authorities from Bolivia in order to develop sustainable services of solid waste and wastewater management, reducing the environmental impact and consequences on the health of urban populations.
