A strong commitment in favour of the environment
CSD's environmental policy is based on a strong commitment of the management and on the individual responsibility of each employee. Through their daily engineering and consulting work, they are personally committed to the environment by developing and implementing economic solutions for customers with a "plus" for the environment and the quality of life.

1. Our solutions: always with a “plus" for the environment
Within the framework of their consulting and engineering services, CSD specialists ensure that they integrate into the projects of their clients the following elements:
- the rational use of natural resources (territory, water, materials, air, etc.),
- the decrease of energy needs, the increase of energy efficiency, and the use of renewable energies,
- the reduction of solid or liquid waste production and the promotion of the reuse, recycling and recovery of materials and waste,
- the reduction of risks and impacts on the environment and health,
- the preservation and restoration of the natural heritage and biodiversity,
- the reduction of greenhouse gas production and the adaptation to climate change,
- the sustainable development of the client's activities by making the environment a factor of competitiveness, a significant added value, and a competitive advantage in respect of future generations.
The environmental challenge is to transform these requirements into solutions that improve projects, their acceptance and user comfort, while respecting budgetary constraints. By working as a team on these topics, creativity can be sparked and attractive solutions generated.
2. Our employees’ personal commitment to the environment
In spite of the added environmental value of our services, we also seek to reduce the impact of our own activities on the environment.
In the last few years, thanks to the personal commitment of its employees, CSD has consistently ranked among the best companies in the "Bike to Work" competition, a national project in Switzerland promoting soft mobility.
To mark its 50th anniversary, CSD has chosen to undertake concrete actions in favor of biodiversity. Employees from each subsidiary of the Group, both nationally and internationally, have carried out many projects during the years 2020 and 2021.
The experience gained and the solutions developed during the Covid period have made it possible to change significantly the way we work, by reducing massively unnecessary travel through telecommuting and online meetings, even after the lockdowns due to the pandemic.
3. We aim for continuous improvement of our environmental behavior
Internal and external audits guarantee the regular monitoring and constant improvement of our environmental policy. In line with these principles, CSD is committed to:
- respect the legislation on environmental protection and work towards its application,
- establish an environmental management system, implement it and continuously improve it, while contributing to the preservation of natural resources and ensuring the common welfare,
- contribute to education, through its training activities at the technical universities or in professional associations, and the teaching of trainees, interns and young professionals within CSD,
- reduce travel whenever possible and encourage the use of soft mobility,
- minimize the use of energy, paper and other products in its business premises and encourage the treatment and recovery of its waste and end-of-life products,
- communicate transparently about its environmental program and results,
- give priority to environmentally friendly materials and services when purchasing. (...).
4. CSD's environmental management is officially certified
Since 2004, the CSD Group has been certified according to the ISO 14001 standard, which provides a framework for environmental management and ensures regular monitoring through certification audits.
