Management of the CSD Group: A new chapter begins

27.10.2023

Agostino Clericetti (pictured right) will succeed Jean-Pascal Gendre (pictured left) as CEO of the CSD Group on 1 January 2024.

In December 2022, the entry of the "Tomorrow" fund (I&F Tomorrow), managed by the firm Initiative & Finance, as the new majority shareholder of the CSD Group, made it possible to arrange its succession in the shareholder structure. Jean-Pascal Gendre, CEO since 2011, expressed his wish to pass on the helm to the next generation and retire from operational management.

After a year of excellent cooperation with the new shareholder, and given our performance, increasing sales and very encouraging outlook, 1 January 2024 is the ideal time for this transition.

In the spirit of continuity and continuation of the work of a proven team, the majority shareholder has decided to appoint the current Vice President, Agostino Clericetti, as the new CEO of CSD Group.

Agostino Clericetti, 55 years old, married and father, is part of the first generation of environmental engineers at EPFL, where he is still a lecturer and member of the advisory committee of the SSIE (Section of Environmental Sciences and Engineering), and holds a Master of Advanced Studies from ETH/EAWAG in the field of water pollution control. Agostino Clericetti has made a valuable contribution to CSD's success for 30 years. He has been active in the German-, French- and Italian-speaking regions of Switzerland as well as at the international level, has managed numerous projects in the fields of climate, rail transport and waste recycling, founded one of our sites and managed it for ten years. After successfully completing an Executive Master in Business Administration at the University of Milan, he was appointed to the General Management of the CSD Group. He first assumed responsibility for a region in German-speaking Switzerland and, since 2016, for the Environment, Geology and Water Division of Western Switzerland, Ticino and Italy. Under his successful leadership, this division increased its headcount by 50%. The establishment of several new locations (Lugano, Basel, Milan, Neuchâtel) and the launch of new business areas (mobility, spatial planning) are also among his successful initiatives.

Jean-Pascal Gendre, currently a member of the Board of Directors of Ingenious future SA, the owner of CSD Group, will join the Boards of Directors of CSD Group SA and CSD Holding SA. He will also chair the Boards of CSD Ingénieurs SA and CSD Ingenieure AG, allowing him to continue to bring to the group companies the experience and expertise he has gained during his twelve years at the helm of CSD.

The Board of Directors expresses its sincere thanks to Jean-Pascal Gendre for his commitment to the CSD Group. The development of the group both in Switzerland and in Europe under his leadership has been remarkable. The specialized engineering company with 360 employees grew to become a major multidisciplinary player in various markets and now employs over 1000 people.

The Board of Directors of CSD Group is pleased to be able to count on Agostino Clericetti's rich skillset, experience and personality, as well as his profound knowledge of the geographic regions and business areas in which the Group operates. It wishes him and his  Executive Board colleagues every success as CSD moves forward.
