As a contribution to the biodiversity actions on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of CSD ENGINEERS, our Lithuanian team worked hard in the Dzukija National Park in the Katra River Valley. Founded in 1991 to preserve the historical natural heritage, it is the largest Lithuanian national park (55'920 ha) with a forest cover of about 90%. The park is also a habitat for many animal species.
In collaboration with professional ornithologists, CSD has participated in the restoration of habitats for rare, threatened or endangered birds. With the decline of agricultural activity in this region, the valley has gradually become overgrown with reeds, bushes and trees, making it unsuitable for wildlife.
During a full day, the CSD Vilnius team cleared almost 8 hectares in the park using brush cutters. A great action to preserve biodiversity!
