Lavey GeothermieThe deep geothermal project Lavey was publicly announced in January 2019 by the municipalities of Lavey-Morcles (VD) and St-Maurice (VS). No objections were received, which is remarkable for a project of this size. Work started in 2020 with the construction of a drilling platform. CSD ENGINEERS is leading this innovative project for the AGEPP SA consortium.

Prior to this public launch, the Lavey-Les-Bains deep geothermal project had received a positive assessment from the Swiss Federal Office of the Environment and all departments of the canton of Vaud.

The start of the construction is scheduled to begin at the end of 2019.

The project will make optimum use of the potential of the country's largest known hydrothermal resource. It is in line with the Confederation's Energy Strategy 2050, which aims to increase local renewable energies. Around 900 households are to be supplied with electricity and the baths in Lavey with geothermal water and thermal energy. In the longer term, the the residual heat will be recovered via district heating networks .
