We are delighted to welcome a new member to the group! With the arrival of sumami, a team of specialists in circular economy, we're extending our expertise in the fields of both consulting and sustainable construction.

Exploiting enormous potential for innovation
No other sector in Switzerland consumes as many raw materials as the construction and property industries. With more than 80% of the country's waste and around 25% of its greenhouse gas emissions generated in this sector, there is considerable potential for innovation. New strategies and business models are required to position companies for the future. Reuse is a key word: new buildings are being designed in a circular fashion and the integration of components from existing buildings destined for deconstruction is becoming the norm in calls for tender.
Expertise and pragmatic application—the sumami idea
sumami started with the idea of seeing cities as warehouses for raw materials. They advise clients on how to integrate circular thinking into a “sustainable management mindset” (sumami). With sumami joining our ranks, our broad portfolio of services in support for contracting authorities and as a planner is enhanced by the specific expertise of strategic consultancy - and vice versa. In this way, we can support our clients in implementing the principle of the circular economy, from sound strategic guidance through practical planning in line with the corporate strategy to efficient and reliable implementation.

“A warm welcome to sumami! With a passion for construction and a sense of responsibility for the future, together we will be a pioneering player in a greener, more sustainable Swiss construction industry.”
— Thomas Erb, Construction Director for German-speaking Switzerland and Germany

“For a future worth living in, we need change, and change can only be achieved with sustainable, forward-looking companies. New business models respond to global and regional trends: thanks to the shared knowledge of CSD and sumami, we can help companies of all types to shape the world of tomorrow.”
