In Vietnam, environmentally friendly and at the same time economical production technologies are still little known. In addition, the financing options for environmentally friendly technologies are very limited.

Since the end of 2007, Switzerland has been promoting environment-friendly production tech-nologies in SMEs with the Green Credit Trust Fund (GCTF) in Vietnam. The promotion of the private sector and technology transfer aims to enable long-term investment in green technologies, contributing to sustainable development and environmental benefits.

The Vietnam Cleaner Production Center (VNCPC), which has been supported by Switzerland since the 1990s, advises industrial companies in the field of environmentally friendly production.

CSD has been a backstopping partner since 2008 and supports VNCPC Vietnam as part of the expert opinions, cleaner production assessments, monitoring and knowledge transfer.

HIGHLIGHTS

Full assessment and measurements (monitoring) are performed by the VNCPC.
An average of more than 3,000 tons of CO₂ per year can be saved per project.
